The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) launched a 10 week consultation exercise on proposals to replace the Construction (Design an Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM 2007) on 31st March 2014.
The HSE have explicitly stated that none of the proposals are set in stone – they want to hear from those affected to help shape the final regulations. They go on to say the aim is to deliver a set of regulations that are simpler and easily understood.
The consultation closes on the 6th June and businesses would be well advised to consider these proposals as these regulations impose duties on clients commissioning building work in addition to the consultation on the replacement of the CDM Regulations.
